History

In 1997 a group of people met and agreed that there was enough interest in the local area to form a western performance club. The decision was made on the name ‘Silver Spurs Western Performance Club’. In 2005 our application for affiliation with the Australian Quarter Horse Association was accepted.

The Club held its first one day show in February 1998. Now, we conduct up to six shows per year as well as numerous clinics, training days and "come and try" beginner days.

The Club continues to provide excellent trainers and judges for our members. The feedback from these professionals is both positive and encouraging for us to continue our commitment to the development of western performance riding and the promotion of the Australian Quarter Horse.

In 2001 the Club finally had a home thanks to the Mt Larcom Show Society where we now have our own sand arena. Continual improvements to our grounds are happening as funds allow, and we hope within the next twelve months to have lights installed at the grounds to allow night clinics and shows.

Our membership stands strong each year and we thank you for looking at our website and hope to see you soon at a clinic or show!
